Butylzinc bromide (also known as Butylzinc bromide) is an organic zinc compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:

Nature:
-Appearance: butylzine bromide is a colorless or pale yellow liquid.
-Solubility: Easily soluble in anhydrous solvents, such as ethers and alkanes, soluble in water, but will react violently with water.
-Reactivity: Butylzinc bromide is a strong reducing agent and Lewis base, often used as a reagent for carbon-carbon bond formation in organic synthesis.

Use:
-butylzine bromide is often used as a Grignard reagent in organic synthesis to catalyze coupling reactions (such as Grignard reaction and Solo synthesis) and ring closure reactions.
-It can react with aldehydes, ketones, acyl halides and carboxylic acids and other compounds to form carbon-carbon bonds or carbon-oxygen bonds.

Method:
- Butylzinc bromide can be prepared by reacting butyl lithium or butyl magnesium halide with zinc bromide.
